About Us

In line with the growing interest in complementary medicine, Singapore Faculty of Homeopathy began its operations under the name Sathya Narayana Centre of Homeopathic Medicines in October 2000 with just a handful of interested students.

From humble beginnings, it has grown by leaps and bounds to its present stature as a leading homeopathic educational faculty in Singapore, providing professionally run courses in homeopathy all the way up to Postgraduate diploma level.

Our Team

Founder & Principal: Dr. M.A. Rangachari, a senior homeopath with over 30 years of experience. He holds an MD degree in homeopathy from India. Dr. Rangachari is also a Fellow of the Malaysian Faculty of Homeopaths. For his untiring efforts in promoting knowledge and awareness of homeopathy in this region, he was conferred the unique honour of Fellowship of 'The British Institute of Homeopathy, UK'.

Besides managing our school, Dr Rangachari provides homeopathic consultation for all types of ailments at our associated clinic, Saipaduka Homeopathy Clinic. Please call (65) 98523327 or (65) 62994502 for an appointment.

Teaching Staff: We have professionally qualified and experienced homeopathic doctors and practitioners teaching our various courses and overseeing the clinical training programme for our graduates, besides the Principal who is also actively involved in this area.

International Affiliations

We are the Singapore representatives of "The British Institute of Homeopathy, UK", a respected centre of learning in homeopathy and complementary therapies founded in London in 1986, whose patron is the great-great-great-grandson of the father of homeopathy, Dr Hahnemann.

Homeopathy, founded in late 18th century by a German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, is based on the principle of 'like cures like'. For example, coffee is known to cause sleeplessness; but when it is made into a homeopathic remedy, it is an effective treatment for insomnia.

Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that treats the whole person, not just the disease. Medicines are made from natural sources such as plants, metals and minerals, by a process called potentisation. Homeopathic remedies are repeatedly diluted in rectified spirit and milk sugar.

Diseases that Homeopathy can treat

As a holistic system of medicine, homeopathy takes into account the totality of symptoms of the patient, i.e. physical, emotional and mental symptoms and lifestyle factors. Thus, it individualises the patient's treatment accordingly. Homeopathy can treat a whole range of conditions such as:

Acute conditions like headache, cold, cough, flu, hay fever, bladder infection, diarrhoea, indigestion, food poisoning, bruises, strain, sprain, pain, etc.

Chronic (or long-term) conditions like asthma, migraine, eczema, allergies, pre-menstrual syndrome, female disorders, sexual disorders, fertility problems, chronic fatigue syndrome, smoking, alcoholism, children's problems like ADHD, mental and emotional conditions like depression, anxiety and manias

Homeopathy sees disease as a dynamic expression of the disharmony in the rhythm of energy that governs the immune system. Homeopathic remedies stimulate the body's own healing/defense mechanism or Vital Force, to bring about an effective, gentle, rapid and permanent cure.

Growth of Homeopathy

The Washington Post (April 28, 1983) reported that the number of physicians practicing Homeopathy doubled from 1980 to 1983.
The New York Times (January 9, 1985) reported that the number of patient visits to Homeopathic Physicians in England is growing at an incredible 39% per year.
The London Times (March 13, 1985) noted that 48% of physicians in England recommend Homeopathy to some of their patients.
A survey of French Doctors revealed that around 11,000 physicians utilize Homeopathic Medicines. 22,000 French pharmacies now sell Homeopathic Medicines. (IFOP survey, Paris, 1985)
